Cainz is now recruiting! This semester we are looking for enthusiastic new recruits to join the committee team as an Events Officer, Partnerships Officer, Marketing Officer and HR Officer. These positions are further outlined below and are open to all University of Melbourne students from all disciplines and majors.

At the core of Cainz are three main values:

Position Outlines

Overview

We are seeking a Partnerships Officer to support the Director of Partnerships in liaising with business professionals and developing professional connections for Cainz.

Responsibilities
  • Seeking out new connections and maintaining existing relationships with academics and industry professionals
  • Drafting proposals for sponsorship relations
  • Communicating with key stakeholders
  • Assisting at Cainz stalls and events
  • Attend meetings as required
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant past experience in partnerships/sponsorships is highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High degree of professionalism and commitment
  • Knowledge of Cainz values
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently
Estimated Commitment
  • 6 – 8 hours a week

Must be a University of Melbourne student until at least December 2021

Overview

We are seeking an Events Officer to assist the Director of Events in coordinating Cainz’s events throughout the year.

Responsibilities
  • Support in planning and organising Cainz events
  • Communicating with key stakeholders
  • Assisting at Cainz stalls and events
  • Attend meetings as required
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant past experience in event planning is highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High degree of professionalism and commitment
  • Knowledge of Cainz values
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently
Estimated Commitment
  • 4 – 6 hours a week
Eligibility

Must be a University of Melbourne student until at least December 2021

We are seeking a Marketing Officer to support the Director of Operations in promoting Cainz across campus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, preparation and management of marketing materials to maximise brand promotion on campus
  • Creation of graphics for physical and digital marketing communications for Cainz events
  • Ensuring content accuracy and quality of information through various social media platforms
  • Assisting at Cainz stalls and events
  • Attend meetings as required
Selection Criteria
  • A comprehensive understanding of social media channels (ie. Facebook, Instagram) and graphic design skills is highly valued
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • High degree of professionalism and commitment
  • Knowledge of Cainz values
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently

Overview

We are seeking a Human Resources Officer to support the Secretary in the hiring and administration of committee members.

Responsibilities
  • Attending club stalls in order to promote club activities and events
  • Administrating club events by notifying all club members of forthcoming occasions
  • Carrying out recruitment processes that involve screening and interviewing prospective members
  • Internal organisation of committee arrangements at stalls
  • Communicating across all divisions in order to complete tasks in an efficient manner
  • Attending meetings as required
Selection Criteria
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High degree of professionalism, commitment and time management
  • High levels of motivation and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Cainz values
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
