Cainz is a commerce-centric student society founded at the University of Melbourne in 2011
with the purpose of bridging classroom theory and industry practice.
-
With a robust program, Cainz has been able to rapidly expand from a small group of students
to an esteemed society. Over just a few years, Cainz has come to produce its own weekly business news
publication, the Digest, hold a variety of successful networking events and facilitate workshops focused on
developing professional skills and knowledge. Our commitment to providing thoughtful and engaging events
for our members has allowed Cainz to continually expand our student outreach.
-
Our membership base predominantly spans across Commerce, Arts and Engineering disciplines.
Our well-diversified portfolio and highly regarded opportunities for member development attract the
university’s most driven and bright students, those seeking to extend themselves beyond classroom theory
and apply what they learn to the real world.
Our Objectives
-
Attracting a diverse membership, Cainz hosts several practical workshops and insightful forums,
to provide students practical experience, applicable in the industry. In achieving our mission
of bridging the gap between academia and professional practice, we strive to fulfil our core goals
of educating students, stimulating thought and discussion and providing career opportunities through
our initiatives and events. Through our activities, we endeavour to impart useful skills, practical
knowledge as well as exposure to financial and economic developments on the global stage.
-
We aim to ensure our student members are more employable by providing them with quality opportunities
to develop professional skills, enhance industry knowledge and build strong networks.
